Boston Bruins star defenseman Hampus Lindholm missed Thursday’s morning skate before tonight’s home game against the Buffalo Sabres, but he had a very good reason for it.

According to Bruins head coach Marco Sturm, Lindholm and his fiancée, Amanda, welcomed a baby girl early Thursday morning. Sturm broke the news to the media during his pregame press conference on Thursday morning, adding that “everyone’s doing fine.”

Lindholm isn’t taking any time off, however, and is still expected to play on Thursday, according to Sturm.

The 31-year-old veteran has played only four games this season, but Boston’s won three of them. He missed eight games due to a lower-body injury that landed him on the injured reserve, but he returned to the ice on Tuesday and helped the Bruins beat the New York
