NEW ORLEANS — Audubon Zoo is bringing a heartfelt twist to its Halloween celebrations this year with its first-ever Beloved Animal Ofrenda.
An ofrenda, which means "offering" in Spanish, is a colorful altar traditionally built to honor loved ones who've passed on Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). Families and friends decorate the altar with flowers, candles, photos, and other meaningful keepsakes.

This special display will pay tribute to Audubon animals who passed and invite locals to remember their own beloved pets.
"All guests are welcome to bring and place photos of their beloved Audubon animals or pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge on the ofrenda,"
