A Deputy Panchayat Head was allegedly found murdered in Chadiyar area of Kangra district, the police officials at the district headquarters confirmed here today.

As per the details available, Ravi Rana (40), son of late Bhim Singh, Deputy Head of the Chek Panchayat in the Chadiyar area of Kangra district, was found dead last night. His body was discovered lying on the roadside, a short distance from his home, around midnight.

The police said that the deceased had deep head injuries, prima facie indicating murder.

Preliminary findings suggest that Ravi Rana had consumed alcohol at one of his friends house in Chadiyar and was returning home when the incident occurred. Later in the night, a villager passing by in car noticed a man lying unconscious on the roadside. He recognised that Ravi
