A Wishaw woman who died during the Bosnian war while delivering humanitarian aid has been recognised in a new book. ‌

From Scotland, With Love tells the true story of Edinburgh Direct Aid (EDA), the volunteer charity founded in 1992 by Dr Denis Rutovitz MBE and Prof Jeanne Bell. ‌

Among its earliest volunteers was Christine Witcutt, a teacher from the Wishaw area who was tragically killed by sniper fire in Sarajevo while delivering aid in the 1990s. ‌

Christine’s bravery, compassion, and sacrifice are at the heart of the book, which chronicles how ordinary Scots risked everything to help civilians during the Bosnian War.
