A 57-year-old man stabbed in the chest and hospitalized and after what police described was a road rage incident between two people in the northern suburbs Wednesday night, with the suspect initially fleeing the scene.
About 7:27 p.m., Mundelein police responded to the area of Route 176 and Joice Lane for reports of a stabbing stemming from an alleged driving altercation or road rage incident, a release from police said. When officers arrived, they found a 57-year-old man bleeding from stab wounds to the chest.
The victim provided police with a partial description of the suspect, who had fled the scene, and a description of the suspect's vehicle. The man was then transported to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery and was expected to survive, the release said.
