The OKC Thunder announced Thursday that Nikola Topić is dealing with testicular cancer.
Executive vice president and general manager Sam Presti said Topić's doctors are "extremely positive" about his long-term outlook. Topić, 20, has started chemotherapy, and there's no timetable for his return to the court.
"Our only expectation of him is to focus on this," Presti said. "This is his most important priority. He'll be back playing basketball when he's able to, but we're not putting any type of expectations on that. He has our total support, encouragement and love."
