LOGAN – The Opera Theatre at Utah State University will stage the local debut of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 on Friday, Nov. 14.
The premier of the award-winning 2016 sung-through musical is slated for 7:30 p.m. at LionHeart Hall.
“This electro-pop musical straddles multiple genres,” according to Dallas Aksoy, the director of the Opera Theatre, “providing a unique, once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experience.”
Being performed by voice and orchestra students from USU, the play --- commonly referred to as just The Great Comet – will be presented in an in-the-round dinner theater setting with mocktails and light hors d’oeuves provided, Aksoy adds.
The musical – which was written, composed and arranged by playwright Dave Malloy – is an adaptation of a 70-page segment of Leo
