A growing campaign is urging customers to cancel their Spotify subscriptions over the platform’s inclusion of ICE recruitment ads.
The campaign, which has circulated online since earlier this month, was reinforced this week by Indivisible, the progressive group behind this year's No King's protests.
"A platform built to connect creators and listeners is helping an authoritarian regime build up its secret police force," stated an email alert sent out by the group, which has more than 1,000 chapters across the country. "They’re choosing complicity over the artists, podcasters, and fans who make Spotify what it is—and when users and musicians called them out, Spotify’s first act was doubling down."
Here's what to know about the effort to boycott Spotify.
