Mathew Barzal will not play against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday (7:30 p.m. ET; HULU, ESPN+) after he arrived late to Lenovo Center for the team's morning skate.
The forward skated with linemates Anthony Duclair and Kyle Palmieri, but won't play. "We made the decision to not play him tonight," Islanders coach Patrick Roy said. 'Barzy' doesn't feel good about it, but he respects the decision. He understands it. He was really good about it."
