SPOKANE, Wash. – As SNAP benefits near expiration , an Armenian restaurant based in Spokane called Skewers said it would give away meals of prepackaged, microwavable chicken and rice meals to anyone who needs one.

Skewers said it would start giving away meals on Saturday, November .

“As SNAP benefits come to an end, many families in our community will be facing greater food insecurity. At Skewers, we want to do our small part to help,” Skewers wrote in their Facebook announcement .

The restaurant said there would be no questions asked for anyone who came to pick up a free meal. It even said people could pick up meals for their family or for someone else they know is in need.
