Is there anything Steve Martin can’t do?

The comedian-actor-playwright-banjo player has earned his seventh No. 1 on the bluegrass albums chart in the U.S. with Safe, Sensible and Sane, his collaborative album with fellow banjo player Alison Brown , according to billboard.com .

The disc, featuring songs with Jackson Browne, Vince Gill and Jason Mraz, has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart (dated Nov. 1).

The Compass Records release makes the seventh time that Martin has appeared on the list, five times opening at the very top, and it is Brown’s second No. 1 debut.

Martin’s musical career was once considered a sideline to his comedy and film-TV career but it’s now a big part of his creative output.
