BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- The familiar odor of nail polish greeted a group of adults as they entered the classroom at Brunswick Middle School.

Two young women worked carefully to add just the right touches to the fingernails on which they were working.

But they weren’t in trouble for applying nail polish in class.

They were completing the day’s assignment in the new College & Career Readiness Labs, a state-of-the-art program preparing eighth-graders for their future careers.

The two newly opened classroom labs provide students with a chance to try their hands at 24 different occupations, using authentic industry equipment to help them make informed choices when they select their high school paths.
