Apple TV has officially announced they have killed a TV adaptation despite it being the best book of 2024.
Variety reported that Apple has canceled plans to adapt Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s novel Long Island Compromise . The series was initially set to be developed by Apple, but is now open to other offers for adaptation.
Before the book was published, there was an open bidding war for the book to be adapted for TV which had several studios interested. Brodesser-Akner had plans to stay on and write the screenplay while executive producing alongside Richard Plepler and his company Eden Productions, which entered a five-year deal with Apple TV in early 2020.
