A carer who sparked a lockdown craze by hatching her own CHICKENS is bidding to crack catwalk success. ‌

Deni Kennedy inspired families to take up the unusual hobby while stuck in their own homes during Covid-19. ‌

The 24-year-old has become the first confirmed finalist in the brand new Miss GB Ayrshire event launched last week. ‌

And she's hoping her quirky side can carry her all the way to the crown next summer.

Deni, of Dreghorn, revealed: “I wanted to push myself outside my comfort zone and help other girls like me believe in themselves.

"I used to struggle with low self-esteem and anxiety that made even leaving home difficult. ‌

“But I’ve come a long way personally, and I’m proud to represent something that celebrates strength and self-belief.
