All the sights, sounds and sparkle of an Indian wedding are set to light up the Swan River for a Bollywood-themed wedding celebration in support of charity.

Maneesha Gupta and her husband are putting on the mock wedding, called The Big Fat Bollywood Wedding Party, and everyone from Perth is invited.

“Many people know weddings in India are celebrated on a truly grand scale, and they’re events that so many people dream of experiencing,” Ms Gupta said.

“When I’d talk to my colleagues about the weddings I’ve attended — or even my own — they would often say ‘Gosh, I wish we could be part of that’.”
