PERRY, Fla. (WCTV) - The city of Perry is making Veterans Day a paid city holiday, according to a statement from Mayor Ward Ketring.
The city is making the change through a 3-2 vote by the city council in favor of adding Veterans Day. The change is in effect now.
More news out of Big Bend:
“With that said, the police and fire department team members will operate as usual being they are 24/7 departments and there will be key team members on call for in case of unexpected outages with the other departments,” Ketring said in a statement.
The mayor continued that Veterans Day will be the same as any other weekend or holiday, with online services and emergency services available.
