Paige McCarthy scored five goals, including three in the third period, to lead the Mitchell U11 LL black team to an 8-0 shutout win in Goderich Oct. 24 in Western Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA) regular season action.

Grady Nuhn, Owen Ulch and Hunter Van Pelt added other goals while Casen Wolfe picked up two assists. Mason Ritz recorded the shutout in goal.

In Zurich Oct 26, though, the road wasn’t as kind in a 7-3 loss to the Thunder. McCarthy scored twice to lead the attack once more while Hunter Rousseau also found the net.

Against visiting Mid-Huron #1 Oct. 29, a slow start to the game allowed the Huskies to take a 3-0 lead after one period and defeat the Meteors 5-2. McCarthy and Nuhn were the goal scorers.
