Star batter Jemimah Rodrigues broke down on the pitch after her stunning knock took India to the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup, as she played a whirlwind innings of 127 off 134 balls, taking her team past a massive 339-run target, to bid defending champions Australia goodbye.

Rodrigues walked in with India in early trouble at 13/1, chasing 339. She first added 46 runs with Smriti Mandhana before forging a match-defining stand with captain Harmanpreet Kaur that paved the way for India’s win against Australia.

Rodrigues and the Indian skipper put together a 167-run partnership to bring India back in contention, with the former reaching her hundred off 115 deliveries. However, the chase was far from over, as India still needed over 100 runs to win.
