The Oklahoma Head Start Directors Association said on Wednesday that four Head Start programs in the state are facing closure as early as Nov. 1 and more could soon follow.

The Oklahoma Head Start program is a federally funded, free early childhood program for children from birth to age five from low-income families, children with disabilities, and children from homeless families, according to its website.

The Oklahoma Head Start Directors Association said parents with little ones in the Oklahoma City metro area Head Start programs do not need to worry at this time because there are several additional programs offering support, like Sunbeam Family Services and Crossroads Family Services.
