A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred at a bonfire party celebrating Forest High School’s homecoming on Sept. 27, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

While at the party, the teen suspect pulled out a gun after a physical altercation erupted, according to deputies.

He then fired several shots at a juvenile victim. However, the victim was not struck.

Deputies stated that several witnesses were present at the scene, but they were unable to identify the suspect.

The Ocala Police Department worked with the MCSO to identify the suspect. Detectives discovered that the teen had deactivated his social media accounts and expressed intentions to flee to Daytona, Florida.
