SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Police have arrested and charged a 48-year-old man in connection to the Walmart stabbing death of an 18-year-old.

Delano Middleton was taken into custody Thursday after Chatham County Police detectives filed a murder charge against him.

The stabbing occurred after an altercation between Middleton and the 18-year-old at the Highway 80 Walmart on Oct. 23. The teen reportedly kicked Middleton's shopping cart as he was leaving the store, a Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) spokesperson told WSAV.

The 18-year-old died in a local hospital Monday due to his injuries.

Middleton was taken into custody and will be booked into the Chatham County Detention Center, a CCPD spokesperson said.
