BEMIDJI — Book club participants and library enthusiasts are invited to join a demonstration against the Beltrami County Board's proposed budget, which includes a 42% funding cut to community services.

The demonstration will focus on the main cut, which is to the local Kitchigami Regional Library System branches in Bemidji and Blackduck, from $437,725 to $265,162, the state-mandated minimum.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Bemidji Public Library. Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character or to wear a sandwich sign to represent their favorite book. At the library, a short storytime will take place.
