STATEWIDE -- This is a time of uncertainty for a lot of Mainers.

The Department of Health and Human Services says that’s why it’s more important than ever to keep in mind that open enrollment for health insurance marketplace begins November first.

They say you can go to cover-me-dot-gov to compare plans, select coverage and learn if you qualify for financial savings.

Households purchasing coverage through cover-me-dot-gov may be eligible for federal advance premium tax credits which provide monthly savings.

They are set to expire at the end of 2025 unless Congress acts.

DHHS says if Congress does not extend the extra savings an overwhelming majority of cover-me-dot-gov consumers will see rates increase .

However they say even without those tax credits, nearly 70 percent of enrollee
