On Dec. 26, one of the longest standing 16-team high school boys basketball tournaments in the United States will bring teams from around Florida, and a few other parts of the country, to Vanguard High School.

13 teams in the field hail from Florida. Host Vanguard and North Marion square off on the first day of the tournament, while Atlantic and Newberry finish off the local quarter of the bracket.

Boca Ciega and Calvary Christian are from the St. Pete/Tampa area. Fleming Island and Tocoi Creek represent Jacksonville. Suncoast, Sarasota, Pembroke Pines, and reigning state champion Stranahan headline a strong field of south Florida teams. Dr. Philips is the lone Orlando-based program
