SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Families and advocates will gather Saturday in Savannah to take a stand against drunk driving.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving - or MADD - is hosting “ Move with MADD ” Saturday at Daffin Park. This is the first year the event is coming to Savannah after previously being hosted on Tybee Island.

The walk raises awareness about the dangers of drunk driving while honoring its victims.

“There are 159 counties in the state. [Chatham County has] risen to the top five in terms of impaired driving crashes that are deadly crashes,” Lisa Sampson, MADD Georgia program manager said. “It’s horrible here and it’s just getting worse.”
