SURI/MIDNAPORE/KOLKATA: The family of a 95-year-old man who died by suicide in his daughter's Birbhum home on Thursday blamed "SIR fears" for his act, making it the second such case in Bengal in three days. Another man's suicide attempt in Cooch Behar on Wednesday was also attributed to concerns over citizenship. CM Mamata Banerjee attacked what she termed "BJP's politics of fear, division and hate" after Midnapore resident Kshitish Majumdar, who migrated from Bangladesh's Barisal 40 years ago, was allegedly driven to suicide by the fear of "being pushed back or sent to detention camps".
