GAINESVILLE — Halfway through Addyson Hauptman and Rowan Kage’s career, a radical shift altered Gainesville High volleyball .

The Hurricanes were district champions in 2023, a top 30 team and featured three Division I recruits – including USC’s Brooklyn Tealer.

Everything changed that winter. The three departed, and so did coach Chancie Grant-Vice.
