CINCINNATI (WXIX) - It’s a brawl that made national headlines and led to massive calls for changes. And for months, we’ve been asking the question: How did the brawl start?

We knew there was surveillance video, and we’ve been asking city leaders for it for months, but they wouldn’t release it.

Now, we are getting at least a glimpse of how it started.

There are still questions, but for the first time, you can see what played out July 26 near 4th and Elm.

As you can see in the video, it starts with crowds standing around.

Then the video shows some sort of exchange, and then the first blow. That’s when Alex Tschervensky, who has been identified as both a victim and suspect in the case, is hit from behind twice.
