LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — As they do every year , the Clark County School District Police Department sent one of its officers out in brightly-colored costume to remind drivers to pay attention to pedestrians and the rules of the road.
“We’ve seen vehicles speeding, we’ve seen vehicles not yielding to the pedestrian that’s crossing in the crosswalk,” Lt. Michael Campbell told FOX5 Thursday morning at the intersection of Boulder Hwy. and Whitney, where a woman was hit and killed earlier this month. “If you see a vehicle slowing down or stopping on the roadway, you have to slow down and stop.”
Lt. Campbell came equipped with a radar gun, and helped fellow officers give out multiple citations for speeding.
