A woman was killed after a tree fell on top of her car in Philadelphia late Thursday morning.

The 44-year-old woman was driving a 2016 silver Ford Mustang westbound on the 3700 block of West School House Lane at 11:53 a.m. when a tree fell on top of her vehicle.

Firefighters responded to the scene and the woman was pronounced dead at 12:23 p.m. Officials have not yet revealed her identity.

The incident occurred while heavy rain and strong winds hit the entire region . Officials have not yet confirmed, however, if the incident was weather-related.
