ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Cobb County man is still in Kingston, Jamaica, two days after Hurricane Melissa tore through the island.
Garfield Lettman was supposed to fly home Friday, but he won’t leave until he knows his little sister is OK.
“Just whistling high wind. If you look outside, you see rain falling sideways. It’s frightening,” Lettman said. “Heartbreaking. You can look at a single roadway and see houses totally trashed, almost like a tornado passed through. It’s very bad.”
Lettman travelled there to give his sister, Abby, away at her wedding in St. Elizabeth on Saturday. But now he’s concerned. He hasn’t heard from her since the storm hit.
