BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- With Halloween happening tomorrow, local law enforcement is reminding families to make safety their top priority.
Whether trick-or-treating in one neighborhood or traveling between several, officers say preparation can help keep the evening fun and accident-free. Parents are encouraged to equip children with flashlights or glow sticks if they plan to be out after dark.
Drivers are also urged to slow down and stay alert for pedestrians, especially in residential areas.
“Halloween’s a special time,” said Recruiting Sgt. Brad Hogue with the Bowling Green Police Department. “It’s an opportunity for people to come out in fun costumes and enjoy the community, but it’s also a time where there’s going to be a lot of people on the roadway and potential dangers with that.”
