The Fort Worth Fire Department announced an arrest in a house fire that injured two first responders in September.
Fort Worth Fire says they are investigating the fire as arson.
On Wednesday night, 34-year-old Shawndreika Thomas was taken into custody in connection with the house fire.
“Every indication that we got is that she used an open flame device such as a cigarette lighter to set common combustibles on fire,” said Fort Worth Fire Arson Captain Wayne May in a press conference on Thursday.
Investigators are using witness statements and surveillance videos to determine what happened, but say the woman had no connection to the home.
