NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New York City and parts of New Jersey were pounded by heavy rain Thursday afternoon.
Parts of Brooklyn were flooded, and residents had to wade through the streets to reach their destinations.
In Queens, multiple trees toppled onto the street and damaged parked vehicles, according to video footage.
In Central Park in Manhattan, a massive amount of rainfall set a record in the heart of the park, according to the National Weather Service.
