SPOKANE, Wash. – As the federal budget impasse continues, 1.4 million federal workers are currently without paychecks. Additionally, 1 in 8 food insecure Americans are facing a cut-off from food stamps.
Starting Saturday, the federal government will not fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Various local organizations and businesses in Spokane are stepping up to address food insecurity.

DoorDash has announced that it is waiving delivery and service fees for SNAP-eligible food. Additionally, the company is waiving merchant fees for partnered food banks and food pantries, providing crucial support to these organizations.
