GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Georgetown County deputies have announced the arrests of two suspects and the search for a third suspect in connection with a shooting in Andrews on Oct. 4.

Derrick Lamont Bright Jr., 24, was taken into custody on Thursday for the shooting of Jonathan Cooper, 21, of Georgetown, and wounding a 22-year-old man near the intersection of West Main Street and Hazel Street, sheriff’s spokesperson Heather Pelham said.

Shiameek Lajuan Alston, 25, of Salters, is being detained at the Williamsburg County Detention Center for unrelated charges and will be served warrants in connection with the shooting.

Bright and Alston will be charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
