LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – Las Cruces Police Department Officer Felipe Hernandez, who was on trial for murder, has been found guilty, but on the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter. Hernandez took the stand in his own defense this week to explain why he opened fire on a car driving away from him. "When the car backs up, if you notice in the pictures, kind of a small gap, I kind of got binged with the wedge of the door," said Hernandez.
