KALAMAZOO, MI – A 51-year-old man was arrested in connection to a shooting in Kalamazoo on Thursday, Oct. 30.
The shooting happened around 1 p.m. in the area of Summit Avenue and Douglas Avenue, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) said.
Officers responded to the scene and found a 53-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated.
The suspect, a Kalamazoo man, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
Police said the suspect will be formally charged and arraigned on Friday. He could be facing multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder, weapons offenses, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and a probation detainer, KDPS said.
