ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands teacher has filed a lawsuit against a major hotel chain after her attorney says she was kidnapped and assaulted by her estranged husband.

Attorney Justin Bamberg is representing Latasha Brown.

Bamberg says on September 20 of 2024, Brown checked into Tru by Hilton in Orangeburg after separating from her husband in July.

Bamberg says her husband was able to track her down, and in spite of not being registered at the hotel was provided a key and her room number.

At 3:45 in the morning, Bamberg says the husband entered the room and for several hours held Brown against her will and violently assaulted her.

Bamberg adds that guests in other rooms called, and even went to the desk to report hearing Brown’s screams but no assistance was ever provided
