One of the biggest shocks in James Gunn’s Superman came when he revealed that Kal-El’s parents, Jor-El and Lara, sent their infant son to Earth not just to save his life, but to conquer our world . In Jor-El’s own words, “Show no mercy” to its inhabitants. This revelation shook Clark, who believed his parents to be noble. Some fans believe Lex Luthor messed with the recorded message his parents left him. But not only did Mister Terrific debunk that theory, Gunn shot it down in real life, too. However, according to a Nerdtropolis interview with Supergirl actor David Krumholtz, via Comic Book Movie , there may yet be more to reveal about the House of El, and their intentions.
