ADDISON, Ill. — A suspect is in custody after he reportedly fired shots at police officers from inside an Addison home.
Police said just before 11 a.m. Thursday, officers were sent to the 200 block of East La Porte Avenue after a man told dispatchers he needed police to help find his dogs and if officers did not help, "he would find people to do the police's job for them."
The suspect then hung up the phone. Dispatchers tried to call him back, but were unable to reach him.
While officers were on their way to the scene, dispatch received other calls from residents saying a man holding a bag sprayed an unknown substance around the street and blocked the street with a white SUV. The suspect was also reportedly lighting items on fire in the middle of the street, according to investigators.
