The Milwaukee Bucks will be without their franchise player when they host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ruled out for the Bucks after initially being listed on the injury report as probable with left knee soreness, the team announced Thursday.

The two-time MVP has had a remarkable start over the first four games of the schedule, averaging 36.3 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists, all of which would be career highs over a full season.

Antetokounmpo, 30, is in his 13th NBA season and has spent his entire career in Milwaukee. Yet there was speculation about Antetokounmpo’s future with the Bucks in the off-season due to their lack of recent playoff success.
