Amid increasing violence in public spaces, churches across the United States are quietly enhancing security measures to protect worshippers while maintaining open doors.
Recent incidents include the deaths of two children at a Catholic Mass in Minneapolis, a gunman opening fire and setting off explosives at a Sunday service outside Detroit, resulting in four fatalities, and the fatal shooting of two women at a church in Lexington, Kentucky, in July. Advertisement
