CLARKSVILLE, Ind. —

For Amanda and Sean Durkin, owning and operating their own haunted house has been a dream in the making, one that started decades ago.

“We actually met at a haunted house where we both worked,” said Amanda Durkin. “It kind of became clear that that was both of our goals, to own our own haunted house, [and] over time, working for other people, we reached a point that we were able to do it, and we jumped in headfirst.”

That goal became a reality seven years ago when they opened the Malice Manor in southern Indiana.

"It's about Lord Rankin and his travels all over the world collecting dark and mysterious trinkets, which he brought back to the manor and cursed everything in it," Sean Durkin said.
