GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- Some Greensboro residents near Starmount Park are talking about unexpected visitors in their neighborhood.

One neighbor came face-to-face with a coyote while walking their dog on Thursday morning.

Some neighbors have taken to social media to warn others, and others said this isn’t the first time coyotes have been spotted in the neighborhood.

“They look like a mangy dog," said Tom Gratzek, a resident.

A post on Nextdoor said there was a sighting as recent as Thursday morning.

The post came from a community watch coordinator sharing that a neighbor who was walking her dog along Starmount Drive saw a coyote come out of the woods early in the morning.

The coyote followed them for a few yards before turning around when they walked up Forestdale Drive.
