SALT LAKE CITY — Provo’s Rep. Tyler Clancy has been appointed to serve as Utah’s state homeless coordinator beginning on March 9, 2026.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox named Clancy to succeed Wayne Niederhauser, who retires on Dec. 5, according to the governor’s office. In the interim , Cox appointed Nick Coleman to lead as homeless coordinator.
“Rep. Clancy knows the work on the ground and at the policy table, and that mix will sharpen coordination and results,” Cox said. “Building on the foundation Wayne Niederhauser laid, we will strengthen Utah’s response and help more Utahns find stability.”
In his new position, Clancy will lead statewide coordination of Utah’s homelessness response, working closely with the Utah Office of Homeless Services. Cox said he will also work with local partners “
