Settled on a gradual approach, local officials announced that they’re working towards finalizing and signing the first phase of the Community Protection and Benefits Agreement with mining company South32.
The agreement itself – which will be signed by Santa Cruz County, the City of Nogales, Town of Patagonia and South32 – seeks protections regarding, but not limited to, groundwater, air quality, biodiversity, soil and public health. ×
