STONINGTON, Conn. — A Stonington High School student was taken into police custody Thursday after allegedly bringing two pellet guns into the high school.

Stonington police confirmed that the student possessed two pellet guns.

Police were notified and students were placed under a lockdown.

“It was pretty terrifying,” said Abigail Cohen, a student at Stonington High School.

She said a classroom hold was announced over the intercom.

Cohen noted that a blood drive was being held at the school Thursday and she initially thought someone may have gotten hurt.

“We assumed someone passed out when they were giving blood but then it became a lockdown,” said Cohen.
