A second protester who attended a June anti-ICE demonstration filed a lawsuit this week against Las Vegas police, alleging that officers used excessive force while violating her First Amendment rights when arresting her.
Karlin Martinez was livestreaming the protest against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on TikTok. At around 9 p.m. that night, Metro Police declared the assembly unlawful and issued a dispersal order.
The protest largely ended after Metro officers used tear gas and pepper balls to disperse the remaining demonstrators.
Nearly 100 people were arrested, with four Metro officers getting injured throughout the night, according to the department. However, “approximately four” civilians were prosecuted.
But Martinez’s arrest happened a little after midnight follow
