When Maia Giordani was watering plants and fruit trees in the yard of her home on Mariposa Street that burned to the ground in the Eaton fire , a neighbor dropped off some artificial sod and asked her to bring what’s leftover to Norman.

“I guess he is our neighbor,” Giordani said.

Across the street from her lives Norman — an 8-foot-tall statue made out of plastic that looks like a werewolf.

He has a menacing snout, grizzly teeth and hair twisting down his arms and legs. He stands tall on the cleared property at 2725 Fair Oaks Ave. of a former sober living house located on the northwest corner of West Mariposa Street in devastated West Altadena.
